While whole country got shocked on New Years Eve over the mass molestation of women in Bengaluru. Over a surprise, a prank video was shared on YouTube wherein a guy tried to kiss girls, who are completely unknown to him. The video itself received numerous negative responses from the side of audiences.
Ultimately it encouraged Delhi Police to investigate into the particulars of the matter. The video was originally captured in famous central Delhi area of Connaught Place and were shared through the YouTube via a personal channel ‘The crazy Sumit’. Apparently, the nasty man can be seen in the video while he kissed girls randomly and ran away. Undoubtedly, it is a serious issue of molestation in public.
“The video has come to Delhi Polices notice through media. We have started the initial technical inquiry. This obscene video is available on Facebook and Youtube links and we are probing this,” said Dependra Pathak, Delhi Police Spokesperson and Joint Commissioner of Police (Southwest).
The video has been reported as a shameful attempt by the viewers & has been compulsorily removed on receiving criticism in high number. More so it has been categorized as criminal act and its details of service provider are under examined. Police said they were “looking forward” to the women who were seen in the prank video to give a complaint, he said.
“I see this kind of sexual perversion on social media in the name of getting likes, online publicity and maybe even some money is involved in it,” he added further.
The youths are being encouraged to do such acts through these videos and suchlike video makers have been doing these type of criminal act for past two years. After the social media lashed out over this kissing & running video, he has issued an apology video via another post subsequently. “We are analysing the contents of the apology. Every aspect is being looked into,” the officer added. Meanwhile, Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chief Swati Maliwal has slammed the “prank” video on her Twitter handle.
